Setbacks never stop state qualifier

Savana Claxton, Reporter

Zeak Naifeh, a wrestler at BHS, has been very passionate for this sport all his life. His father and older brother both wrestled in high school as well and have supported him over the years. He took his freshman year by storm and achieved great things. Naifeh was a state and national qualifier, an amazing achievement for a Junior Varsity Wrestler.

Though he had a fallout his sophomore year, breaking his collar bone which left him out for half the season, he still ended with a bang; he once again made it to state and took 4th place in addition to being the regional champion. He ended the season with a record of 27-5. In his junior year he qualified a third time for state and placed 4th in regionals and became the Jenks tournament and Bixby Classic champion.

Naifeh ended the season with a 29-9 record. He is now in his final year and hoping to do his best by making his 100th win as a Bixby Spartan and take state. At each tournament, Naifeh plans to work his hardest and make the finals every time.
