Sophomore journalism one student, Miki Riley went on a photographic adventure January 20. The Butcher Babies concert was being held in Oklahoma City at the Diamond Ballroom.

Riley went for the music. She also went as a photographer. “I asked Heidi Shepherd, the lead vocalist in Butcher Babies if I could photograph the concert since we were past acquaintances. She said yes. Once I photographed Butcher Babies, I followed them to their merchandise table to photograph them meeting fans.  I then shot Hate Breed’s set until the crowd got rowdy and the security guards made the photographers leave. I followed Heidi to their tour bus where i had a conversation with Heidi and Carla about not giving up on my dreams. Before Black Label Society came on stage, I came back to the photo pit to prepare for the best set I have ever seen.”

Riley has aspirations of becoming a professional photographer. She was then featured in The Press Pass magazine.com.
